Abu is a Canadian-born R&B/soul and funk artist hailing from the vibrant city of Guelph, Ontario. Armed with a Bachelor of Music degree from Humber College, where he delved deep into the world of jazz, Abu honed his craft as a multi-instrumentalist.
As a composer, producer, and charismatic bandleader, Abu weaves together the threads of his diverse life experiences, drawing inspiration from his identity as a queer Muslim to craft music that serves as a beacon of love and acceptance. His compositions resonate with themes of spirituality, love, and community, inviting listeners to embark on a soulful journey of introspection and connection.
With vocal prowess reminiscent of icons like Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, and Jennifer Hudson, Abu's performances are electrifying showcases of raw talent and infectious energy.
